Monoamine oxidase inhibitor and Dimethyltryptamine
DMT is a Tryptamine based drug and claims to be the strongest known hallucinogenic substance. It’s effect only lasting around 10 minutes, but it’s nothing for people with no experiences in psychedelic drug use. DMT occurs in quite many South American plants and it’s mainly used for medical appliances in shamanic surroundings. DMT itself is non-toxic and has less effect without a MAOI like Ayahuasca (it works without it, at least if it’s synthetic DMT, smoked in a pipe). So MAOI makes the use of DMT quite difficult and dangerous, since those substances have quite alot of unwanted side effects. It’s very important to take care what to eat and what other drugs to use, because it can cause death. So a very careful preparation for those psychonautic experience is essential and it’s everything else than a party drug.
Unlike Bufotenin, DMT is a Schedule I drug in the US and its under the BtMG in Germany.
Interesting, I have never before really looked into DMT. I have had discussions with friends about it. But this is a good outline of it. Thanks for the info fukami.
